PRIMARY (Recommended for Grades Pre-K – 2) 20 - 30 minutes
Basic
- Introduction (Host introduces.)

- Respond to questions
- OPTIONAL: Dance Line (Host plays music and we all have fun.)
INTERMEDIATE (Recommended for Grades 3 – 5) 30 – 45 minutes
Intermediate
- Introduction (Host introduces.)
- Author/Audience Interaction: Students can ask questions. Question suggestions: about the book, our writing process, our journey to publication. Students can also ask questions related to their own writing and/or process.
- Read story
- Time for more audience questions
- OPTIONAL: Dance (Host plays music and we all have fun, if time allows.
ADVANCED (Recommended for Grades 6 – 8) 45 – 60 minutes
Advanced
- Introduction (Host introduces.)
- Share “the story behind the story” from first draft to submission to editor input
- Read story
- Answer questions
- Students reflect upon a takeaway from the presentation that they apply to their writing
PERSONALIZED WRITERS' WORKSHOP (Recommended for Grades 4 – 8) 45 – 60 minutes
